REMEMBERING OUR WAR HEROES
Building up to VE Day celebrations a look back to Harold Cox my Grandad who fought on the Western Front in the Great War. He was also on the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940 and helped rebuild the bombed city of Plymouth after WW2.
Kevin Kelway, Media Director of Dorcas Media, said: “My Mammy used to wave to him working on the large crane that he managed after the war, and building one of the city’s most prominent structures in the reconstruction of the town centre on Royal Parade.
The former National Westminster Bank (now the Royal Bank of Scotland) – she used to come out of school at St Martin’s Gate on the Barbican and wave to him.

“I must confess it brought some tears from a man who was a true family hero,” said Kevin.
