EXETER ENTREPRENEUR – DESIGNS LIGHT PROTECTOR FOR CHILDREN’S PRAMS & BUGGIES

EXETER businessman and inventor Paul Batterbee has developed a highly reflective flat disc entitled ‘DISC-A-LIGHT’ that fixes onto wheel frames for children’s prams, wheel chairs, and elderly buggies – that can be seen in the darkness hours.

Mr Batterbee, said: “My simple, but innovative design, was created after a Mother was pushing a pram at night and just appeared in front of my car. It got me seriously thinking about creating a safety measure that makes prams and push chairs more visible in the dark.”

“My ‘DISC-A-LIGHT’ is highly reflective, fits easily and securely to a pushchair/buggy.”

“It is a new innovation, and pro-actively improving visibility in darkness and low light situations. The discs are attached to the front and rear wheels, and become highly visible through the spokes or, when light strikes them. It actively enhances visibility and enhances the safety of the child.”

“I’m looking for a manufacturer to collaborate in bringing my safety preventive product to the British and international market places,” said Mr Batterbee.

“ETS Training have been marvellous in supporting my business venture with help and support, mentoring and coaching when I needed it,” said Mr Batterbee.

Richard Jenkins, chief executive of ETS Training, said: “Being a charitable training organisation and part of our social corporate responsibility, I’m delighted we are supporting Exeter entrepreneur Paul Batterbee.”
