If there’s one thing we have learned in 10 years of running Dorcas Media Limited is the variety, flexibility, and no week, month, or year is the same.
In 2023, it’s been a year of personal acclaim, winning-awards, building new services, and holding prestigious events, but most of all connecting with other businesses and clients in the UK and overseas.
A selected highlight of some of our year at Dorcas Media in 2023, and we wish all our friends, supporters, collaborators, businesses, and clients a Merry Christmas & great 2024 from team Dorcas Media.
Media Director Kevin Kelway, was recognised at the Palace of Westminster with the prestigious British Citizen Award (BCA) in recognition of his extraordinary endeavours in January 2023.
Kevin was awarded the British Citizen Award in partnership with One Stop, now in its ninth year and recognises exceptional individuals who positively impact their communities throughout the country.
Dubbed ‘The People’s Honours’ due to the fact that anyone with an OBE, CBE of KBE is ineligible to receive a BCA, this programme recognises true community heroes for their divergent endeavours and positive impact on society.
Kevin is one of only 29 individuals to be recognised at the Palace of Westminster in January 2023 and was honoured to receive the British Citizen Award for Services to the Community. Kevin received the coveted BCA Medal of Honour and invited to use the post-nominals BCAc as a legacy of his achievements for the rest of his life.
Dorcas Media is celebrating 10-years in business with a decade of many accomplishments for the award-winning Plymouth based PR agency.
What began as a pilot venture in 2013, has grown into an award-winning PR, Marketing, film and live content company.
Ian Fleming, Sales Director said: “We call ourselves a PR boutique agency and we punch above our weight across the global scene with co-ordinating trade missions to Europe, working with clients around the world, and forging business links and networks,” he said.
“We recently launched a spin-off blog website ‘Westward Shipping News’ that is making a splash in the local maritime sector and is growing,’ said Ian.

A historic Old Chapel at Emma Place in Stonehouse, and for centuries the home for many of the city’s top-ranking admirals, doctors, and clergy, went under the auctioneer’s gavel and was recently sold for £135,500.
The charming Georgian property dating back to the 19th century, was auctioned by former BBC TV star Scott Gray of ‘Homes Under The Hammer’ where he featured on the programme from 2003 to 2016.
Scott now runs his own successful South West business www.247propertyauctions.co.uk/ and works across the UK providing weekly auctions that is broadcast live and online for clients to bid for residential, commercial, agricultural, industrial, and amenity land plots, said Scott.
ONE of Plymouth’s industrial and business gems at Wixenford Farm in Coledown Hill, near Plympton and Plymstock is up for sale, with a price tag for nearly 1 million – with former BBC TV star Scott Gray of ‘Homes under The Hammer’ conducting the online sale on the 7th December.
Over the last three months Scott has featured in several newspapers and magazines across the UK working with Dorcas Media.
PLYMOUTH’S PR BOUTIQUE AGENCY- WINS PRESTIGE AWARD
In (November 2023) Plymouth’s Dorcas Media is celebrating after being recognised by the South West Prestige Awards – and securing PR Agency Of The Year – Devon 2023/2024.
Kevin Kelway and Ian Fleming both founded the boutique PR agency in 2013, and will be attending a special gala dinner ceremony in Cornwall in the New Year to pick up the accolade.
